PRIVACY
How the public tools use information.
Effective October 19, 2026. This notice describes the current demonstrations and inquiry pathways. Secure document intake and production accounts are not active.
VIN and recall requests
When you request a VIN lookup, your browser sends the VIN to NHTSA’s vPIC service. Recall screening sends decoded make, model and model year to NHTSA’s recall service. These services can receive technical request information such as your IP address. Their own privacy practices apply. This website does not independently verify vehicle ownership or individual-VIN open recalls.
Browser-session information
The website uses sessionStorage to carry your VIN, decoded description, mileage, condition, entered value range and source labels between review steps. It also retains the selected category and jurisdiction. Review context is discarded on the next page load when its transfer timestamp is more than 30 minutes old, invalid or missing. Browser restore settings may preserve a session; other selected category and jurisdiction preferences remain until cleared. This is browser housekeeping, not secure storage or authentication. Financial calculations run in the page. The public tools do not submit deal forms or documents to an Auto-Cation application database.
Use “Clear browser review context” in the review-page footer to remove these Auto-Cation session entries and reload. Other page inputs are reset on reload. Avoid entering personal, confidential or customer-level information in public demonstrations.
Hosting and requests
Hosting and security providers may process IP addresses, browser information, request times, paths and security events. Their handling of technical logs is separate from browser-local calculation inputs. We do not claim that public use generates no records.
Inquiries you choose to send
The live public inquiry pathway prepares a message for email follow-up or copies it to your clipboard. The separate private-development intake described below is for sample testing only. Sending it shares its contents with Auto-Cation and the relevant email providers. The form does not upload attachments to this website. Do not send credit applications, identification images, Social Security numbers, account credentials or confidential contracts through ordinary email.
Future document and organization services
Before accepting contracts or protected records, Auto-Cation must implement authenticated access, suitable safeguards, permitted-use terms, retention and deletion rules, and service-specific notices. Planned OCR and document review are not currently available.
Questions
Email info@auto-cation.com or call (800) 554-1735. Do not include sensitive records with an initial request.
Separate development testing and optional measurement
This section describes a separate testing environment, not a live customer intake service.
The private development preview can receive sample contact inquiries. It stores the entered name, email, optional telephone and state, selected role and message for testing only. It does not send those inquiries to the business team. Test inquiries expire after 24 hours and are purged on the next database operation. Do not enter real customer records or upload documents.
Optional measurement is off until you choose Allow measurement. When enabled, the preview counts page views, audience-path clicks and confirmed inquiry receipts by page and day. Event payloads contain no names, email addresses, VINs, query strings, device identifiers or advertising profiles. Aggregate test counts are retained for up to 30 days. Your preference is stored in this browser; the browser’s Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control setting takes priority. Use Keep measurement off in the footer to withdraw consent. Previously aggregated counts cannot be linked back to an individual.
The development service uses connection information temporarily to limit spam. Production hosting logs, access controls, encryption, retention, delivery routing and search-account verification must be reviewed before activation. The public site is unchanged by this development package.
